There is no facility to convert Airmiles into BA Miles, but have you considered booking 1 flight using the BA Miles, and the 2nd flight using your Airmiles ?

Airmiles offers less flexibility for sure, but all taxes/fees/charges are included, and they have different reward availability from mainline BA on some flights.
