It seems to be a lottery then because Guy Betsy's BA comment is definitely the case based on my experience during the last Oneworld promotion - of seven segments the boarding passes for which all had different FF program numbers printed on them at check-in, all except the transatlantic segment posted to my AAdvantage account which was the account I used for the first segment.
