My suggestion is not to give a FF# whatsoever before the trip is completed. Just keep the boarding passes until you come back from your trip and fax them in afterwards.
I did the oneworld promo last year and had a lot of problems with getting the correct numbers in while flying. Especially if you are on tight connections.
