Please post your Honors experiences
Hi all,
I saw a thread on the IHG forum asking about experiences for top Tier members at IC and didn't immediately find a similar thread for Hilton. I stay at Hiltons between 120-150 nights every year and wanted to share some experiences with you in terms of upgrades, rooms feedback, lounge experience, etc. (If this thread already exists on this forum, I do apologize)
What Hilton Property did you stay at?
Hilton London Heathrow Airport
What is your HHonors status?
HHonors Diamond
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I had booked a standard king size room. I was upgraded to a Executive Floor with Exec Lounge Access.
How are the rooms?
The Executive Floor rooms on the 5th floor were very good. I do find them quite small and know they come either with a bath tub with a shower head or a shower. The beds are pretty good -- I like the atrium view rather than the outside airport view.
How is the exec. lounge?
I like the lounge at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport. I stay here about once a month so I know most of the stay, many of which who have been there for quite some time. The lounge features a spacious area (it used to be on the 5th floor but about a little over a year ago they moved it to the ground floor), newspaper selection is good as are the canapes (hot and cold). The breakfast is generally pretty decent. As a matter of fact, on my last stay the coffee machine had broken and the lounge staff went and got me a coffee at Costa Coffee (which is also inside the Hilton). Overall, good lounge experience.
What was your welcome gift?
I didn't get a specific welcome gift, just the complementary bottles of water which you usually get.
Did you receive complementary Internet in the room (wired/wireless)?
Yes - Free wired in the room since I'm Diamond. However wireless internet comes at a price. The speed and quality of the Internet was pretty good.
What was good and what was bad?
- Friendly staff at the Club Lounge (I have had some less friendly encounters at the front desk)
- I always find the rooms to be a bit small, however most guests are only there for a single overnight stay, as such I can imagine this not being a problem.
- As a closing note, there's also great Asian restaurant called "Zen" in case you like that cuisine.
What were the dates and duration of your stay?
July 2011 for 2 nights
Cheers,
Kris
