I too as a CO Plt have been treated well. In one IRROPS situation, they even re-routed me and put me in first to boot with no begging on my part. I fly them 6-8 times a year and find the service to be very good. YMMV.
Either US is just great in IRROPS or my CO Gold status had them treat me well in one such situation as well. First they gave me great advice and kept working with me in the US Airways club. Then at the gate they offered to switch me to a different plane where they had added a flight (PIT-PHL, where PIT had been shut down for a day, so they added an extra flight), told me it'd be going out as the first aircraft, and she could give me exit row.
