Tango: No, IB does not cross the Atlantic with MD-80's. The MD-80 flies from MIA-Central America and back, and the MAD pax connect through a 747 flight from MAD-MIA and back. The 747 lands in MIA and all of IB's central America flights take off within an hour or so. And then they all return next morning, landing at MIA within about an hour or so of the 747's return to MAD. The pax soend the transit time in a transit lounge at MIA, and board before the people in the terminal, so when we got on, even though we appeared to be first on, th eplane was already full. To their credit, however, the IB MD-8- has the largest Y seat pitch I've ever experienced. It was quite comfortable. And the service was impeccable.
