Agree with the CO pilot, 70 minutes is too tight a connection and if for some reason you can't OLCI for the KL flight I'd think you will be at serious risk of missing the checkin cutoff.

If your KL flight is in Business I'd got for IAH as it will allow a longer sleep time. If you are in economy I'd opt for ORD as you will have to suffer for a shorter time period.
