Wow. 40 pages in a day+

Some coments:
I have been a member of OP since 1983 (coming up to 30 Years!). There is no question in my mind that this is a Trial Baloon. It may well indicate that there is tension in UA about launching this program and our comments may well sway the argument one way or another. I don't think threats will make a difference, but sharp, cogent arguments as to why this is not a good idea may.

My wife and I are both CO 1MMers. This proposed new MP program would gut the benefits that we worked so hard to attain. This is NOT good business and puts us both in a negative mood towards UACO. We spent 30 years flying CO (and People Express, and Texs Air, and ++++) and our reward is to check in at exactly 24 hours and maybe get an E+ seat?? I guess they could make all 1MMers the equivalent of 1P and that would bring things back to fair, but I don't think this will happen.

We also run a small business. ANYTHING that encourages our employees to spend even a dollar more of the company's money is a no-no. I am smart enough to know that our employees (present and future) WILL find a way to beat the system and spend more and more of the company's money. As the CFO of the company, I cannot tolerate this and if revenue generated becomes a part of the new program, then sadly, we are gone. Period.

I can only conclude that the revenue requirements ARE a deliberate effort to reduce lower profit repeat customers, AKA mileage runners and those not Flyertlkers that fly a lot on cheap fares. CO has the numbers and knows which elite members got there for the smallest amount of $$$$$. The revenue requirements are there to cull that herd. CO does not care if they elsewhere and assumes that any replacement customers will provide, at a minimum, the same revenue, and probably more.

I will close by saying, it is sad to see this degeneration.
