AAdvantage recently changed their policy regarding premium status. You can qualify for G/P/EP through either actual flight miles and/or the point system. It seems to be a good reward system for those that fly last minute full fare economy, business or first. Ultimately I believe that we will have a lot more individuals attempting to get upgrades. I give it a year or so before AA Marketing comes up with a Titanium level.
