Don't despair. The same thing happened to me when I did my BA flights a few weeks ago (I think I posted something on this a while back). Just send in your boarding pass with your AA ff # and copy of flight coupon to AA and explain that the flight has not been credited to your account and it should be taken care of. I got my credit in just under two weeks. So you may not have to take that extra BA flight after all! BTW, it was only with my BA fights that I dared give my ff #'s at check in - all others I did manually.
Shareholder ... would be interested in hearing the outcome of your CX flight posting. Hope it all works out for you! Am having BA look into a Finnair flight that they claim is a consolidator fare even though it is a published fare that I purchased directly from Finnair! I think I was screwed by the changeover to standardized fare codes as of November 1. BTW how was Barcelona and Mallorca?
