What I did was to get my UK travel agent to reserve the flights (34 sectors) and then have him set it up as a Ticket on departure with American Airlines in Vancouver.

All working Ok and I'm Auckland now on the way back - only 12 more sectors to go.

I paid the canadian price for the 5 continents ticket.
