I flew LAX-PEK and back in Y a few months ago and I found Air China's "in-flight entertainment" to be horrendous. The projector was barely visible since the bulbs seemed to be just about burnt out. They showed a few movies, but they shut them off without them finishing too. It was very odd. They were also children's movies. One was Toy Story 3 and the other was a Chinese animated movie. They have the audio system that isn't half bad, but it's looped like most airlines have. However, I found the legroom and food to be much better than Delta, who used to be my airline of choice to/from Asia. I would fly Air China transpacific again but just don't expect much. Also make sure that your fare class will allow you to earn miles. They have a ton of classes that are useless on other *A partners.
