Does anyone have any ideas for Europe on this promotion? My husband and I had already planned on going to Scotland on AA in October. After seeing the 100,000 mile bonus info here I called AA's FF desk and the person I reached had never heard of it. I explained about it being in the August newsletter etc. and she put me on hold and after a few minutes came back and said she had found it but she didn't have a clue about how I would book anything that would cover anything like 5 airlines. I said 3 would be fine. She came up with a BA fare to Munich (Octoberfest) LHR to MUC $188 rt. So that gives us 2 Oneworld airlines. I saw the CX fare of $300 JFK - YVR and we could do that too (later, of course, after stopping back home for a few days to recover. I guess we could do a quick hop to Canada to cover CP but now I'm stumped. I wish we could have gotten another airline in Europe. Wouldn't have minded a trip to Rome or Venice.
Anyone out there have any ideas? We're trying to get gold on AA this year after years of elite on TWA. I retire in 3 weeks and 2 days (but who's counting?) and we would rather start flying AA because we can go from Stewart Airport five minutes from us instead of dragging down to JFK or LGA and having the hassle of drivng for nearly two hours (on a good day), traffic, parking etc. I would appreciate any and all input.
