I can guarantee that almost 100% -it wont occur in USA here . Maybe in Asia or Europe . Even then - how do they get your room #? How do they know you are staying single and not with family?

Also, I am assuming that - some of these hotels are well known for providing call girls. So why not check out the reviews online and then book another hotel unless of course that type of hotel was what you wanted or you are vising a city for such type of activity.
