Currently I am not a Qantas FF. I was reluctant to pay the the $60 joining fee. That was just against my understanding of getting "rewards". But the other day I found out that this only applies to Australian residents. As long as I am only a part-time Aussi. I joined in as a European with no fees.

I currently only have around 22.000 QF points earned through my CC. But maybe this is the last excuse I needed to replace my old desktop PC. A current offer would give me 6 Qantas points for every dollar spend on Compaq hardware. So that new PC comes in at A$3700. Makes about another 22.000. Gives 44.000. Bingo!

I will see if that works out.

And yes, you were right about the BKK-JNB leg. I had that old Varig connection in mind. Haven't realize that they don't service this route any more.
