Adding Checked Bags in Transit
Hi all,

I'm planning on flying IST-BOS on an F award ticket, and will be transiting thru LHR.

I currently have 1 suitcase in IST with me, and 2 more in storage in London. I wanted to fly out on the early morning BA flight from IST, land at LHR at 11:00, go into town and pick up my additional 2 bags, and then return to LHR to check in bags #2 and #3 for the 19:30 BOS flight.

Is this possible? Can I check one bag through to BOS from IST and then add 2 more in IST?

Would I have to check bag #1 in thru to LHR only and then re-check in all 3 at LHR?

Any advice and first-hand experience on this would help.
