LAX-ORD-AMS or LAX-IAH-AMS?
I'm traveling on Dec 24 and need to purchase two separate tickets... Here's the scoop:

I am using DL miles to fly US-Europe. KLM has seats out of either ORD or IAH. I live in LAX. So I need to buy a separate ticket from LAX to one of those gateways. I want to buy a refundable ticket, so that if space opens up on KLM out of LAX (or SFO), I can change.

The LAX-ORD flight is on a 319 in F. I would have 2.5 hours to get from UA to the international gates.

The LAX-IAH flight in on a 757-200 (International C configuration). I would have an hour and 10 minutes to get to the KLM flight. I could also take an earlier LAX-IAH flight on a 737-800.

ORD can be a problem in the winter, so I take that seriously!

What say the gurus?
