I think this is generally right, although it also depends on expected load. E.g., aisle in middle on 2-5-2 could give you a lot of extra room on a relatively empty flight.
2-4-2 I'm not certain is equal. There's some chance a person next to you in the aisle will go the other way, especially if the other aisle person gets up.
