Actually the Westin in Paris' bellman would come up straight up to you once you come out of the car/taxi infront of the main enterance, that's why what I said earlier would work if you went to that hotel (no check-in agent would even notice you). Just make sure they give you the ticket of course, it's their responsibilty to hold the baggage in a safe place. You can tell them while your going out that it's not check-in time yet and your gonna have a good walk in Paris then check-in later.
The hassles usually will occur I find at Airport Hotels, especially those connected to the Term or within walking distance. Almost every time I was asked if I was a Guest, I answered not for tonight but I do have a res for next week on my way back and always was asked if I have a copy of said res which I produce and bam the bag/s are stored. I assumed if no res whatsoever no storage
this can be at any Hotel not only *W but its best to do it with a hotel you have status with and also just in case you might not need that room when returning the next week, its best to make a fully refundable res ,eg a change of plans where a better set of flights have opened up so now instead of having to overnight say @ FCO you can fly say ZRH-PHL-EWR instead of ZRH-FCO (overnight) FCO-EWR
