Some people like to be in positions of responsibility. The sole ambition of some of the boys at school was to be a prefect, or even better head-boy. Quite a few cricket players get quite a kick out of being the captain. It seems perfectly natural therefore that BA should charge you for the privaledge of being the door monitor.
