The operator of Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Staybridge brands intends to increase its UK estate by a further 28 hotels from the current 269, an expansion that will create up to 3,000 jobs.
The roll-out includes a new flagship InterContinental at Westminster and a Holiday Inn and Staybridge near the Olympics site.
Other locations for new openings include York, Newcastle, Manchester, Blackpool, Birmingham, Colchester, Southend, Walsall, Bristol and Edinburgh.
Europe, which includes the UK, saw overall revenues rise by 17% in the six months with operating profits up 22% at 71 million US dollars (£43.5 million). The InterContinental London Park Lane in particular saw strong daily room rate growth.
