CO has ELR and UA has E+. My post was eminently clear.

The bottom line is that all CO did was to start charging for the small number of already existing seats that (might) have more legroom. In fact, many of the CO ELR seats are less comfortable than the ordinary Y seats in other ways, such as:

1. Limited or no recline
2. Shorter seat bottom
3. Fixed and thicker armrest that reduces the width of the seat.
4. Colder temperature near exit hatch or door
5. Not suitable for families with children, or the eldrely, at least for the exit rows.

UA, on the other hand, took the bold step of taking rows out and creating very substantial E+ sections (the smallest E+ section on UA mainline is 36 seats).

Of course, at least Jeff Smiser had the good sense to retain E+ and it will eventually be fitted in the current CO fleet...
