If easyJet for example can distinguish between Visa credit, Visa debit and Visa Electron cards, there is no logical reason why 'the relevant department' at SWISS cannot. Let them try a dummy booking ZRH-LGW, for example, and they will see how easyJet manages the differences.
How can I book at swiss.com using the direct money option? I have just made a dummy booking for which the available payment methods are PostFinance, Visa, MasterCard, AirPlus UATP, Diners Club and JCB. No mention of the direct money option.
We already know the Maestro and direct money transfer options are, shall we say, limited. Where in London and other UK cities can I pay cash at a SWISS sales office? This page -
http://www.swiss.com/web/EN/general/...ffices.aspx#lu - only shows airport ticket desks. I suppose I could pay when I arrive at LCY or LHR, but would my booking be confirmed?
The ASA requires fares to be advertised with all taxes and charges included. IMHO there would be a basis for complaint where the the LX payment methods such as Maestro, which is only available in NI and cash being the other option which is not viable.
Therefore this won't last five minutes before LX are forced to offer a free payment method OR advertise their fares with the CC/DC charges included.
In the past few months the ASA forced LX to amend the advertising of their UK homepage and fares. Now you have those little 'i' buttons on the homepage talking about blackout dates as it seems LX had not fulfilled the minimum of 10% of fares being available in the stated offer class.
