I have never lost any miles, I always follow them up if they do not post within the stated 6 to 8 week timescale. It's a pain that their IT systems cannot deliver what they promise, but that is not only an Avis problem.
I had a rental from UK Avis this November, I chased them but they were keep saying to me that the miles have been already posted
Then another one from Grenada where they are keep telling me that the rental agreement number does not exist... I sent them the booking .pdf and the scanned copy of the rental agreement and I am keep waiting. I have another one from Cyprus that I'll have to chase after 1 more week (6 weeks from rental).. And I've missed others too..
The only time that I am getting my miles straight, is when I rent in Greece.
