Absolutely not. First, nothing's getting worse; fares are up, but how many half-full planes have you been on lately? Second, there is much less capacity / inventory out there compared to the last market crash in 2008, and the airlines have learned that capacity reduction, not cost reduction, is the path to stability. Third, DEQM promos hurt everyone in the long run. They create too many elites and devalue everyone's status and miles. I would have thought this obvious by now.

The market's going to gyrate around for awhile and perhaps the DJIA will dance around the 10k mark for a bit. But either it comes back in the long run once everyone calms down -- corporate balance sheets are much stronger now than in '08 -- or everything goes completely to hell, in which case you will probably be worrying more about canned goods and ammo than airfares.
