You are indeed correct and, with a little insider help, we were able to get the situation resolved. Odd that neither the line person nor the supervisor knew what I would consider to be some pretty basic rules. Of course, on the Starwood forum, there's a thread about front desk clerks, managers and Plat customer service not knowing the basics of 4pm checkouts, so I guess every program has its foibles.
