Are you referring to UA's former practice of only crediting AAA-CCC (1 segment, point-to-point mileage) when one flies AAA-BBB-CCC under a single flight number? If so, that has been changed; elites now get 500 mi/1 segment per takeoff, regardless of flight numbering.
