SFOisHome, I believe there are a lot of people who a) undervalue the inconvenience of being told one thing (multiple times, mind you) and experiencing a completely different thing, b) undervalue the importance of making plans based on one key factor that should have been concrete, and c) undervalue the absolute headache to pack up an entire family and move to another location.

I would not bother with this thread anymore at this point, as it seems you won't be receiving too much support for whatever reason... afterall, this board are the first to show a guy complaining of cold water when he tried to take a shower an outpouring of support, but I digress...

I believe full compensation for the hotel's misinformation (and not just the difference in the time you were inconvenienced) was what you should have expected (and hopefully receive over the next couple days after their information posts) in YOUR situation. This situation may have been different for someone else who was already staying at the hotel and simply wanted to use the pool as an afterthought. However, when you make specific plans based on the incorrect information provided by the hotel, then that is a fairly important difference in the situations.
