Exclamation Warning: Please mind the gap (in NF)

I've read of several people complaining on FT about the gap behind the raised side-table in window seats on NF. I really thought people were making a mountain out of a molehill, and then I saw the gap for myself on a recent flight to IAH. What is strange is how the gap varies in size depending on which seat you are sitting at and on which aircraft...

And then my Dad went and lost the back panel of his Blackberry down the gap on a recent 747 flight to DFW. Despite asking the crew for assistance, nobody and no implement could retrieve the said piece of plastic. And on the same flight, my Mum accidentally lost her notebook (containing all of her tour notes for a certain museum she works at) down the same gap. Unfortunately she didn't notice it was missing until the following day, and having remembered she'd checked her seat area for all her possessions prior to disembarking, she later realised where it must have gone...

So - what have you lost down the gap?

And I do wonder what mysterious items the engineering teams find years later stuck down the sides of seats / body panels...
