I've not tried it, but the Kindle has a USB cable (it unplugs from the AC adapter) and theoretically, if you plug it into the USB port on the seat back in front of you it should charge the device. If not, you can plug your AC adapter into the electrical outlets that most AC aircraft have (not all economy seats have their own outlet, mind).
