Removal of police and other public official names from postings?

It appears that a number of posts, including one of my recent threads, has been significantly altered by removing the names of police officers and other public officials involved in incidents.

It is difficult to understand why this is occurring. This does not appear to be supported by the policy:

With the exception of public figures, do not post names, addresses, phone numbers or e-mails of other FlyerTalk members. This information will be removed by moderators. Respect the privacy of non-management travel service employees by not referring to them by name.
The people referred to in my post are public figures and management-level employees. Publishing the names of wrongdoers is a legitimate action. Further, Flyertalk's ability to shield itself from claims under §230 could be weakened if moderators continue to be so heavily involved in modification and editing of threads.

I petition the TalkBoard to clarify the policy posted above and ask that moderators reserve heavy-handed editing for instances where same is truly appropriate, for instance, revealing personal information about another poster.

Thank you.
