To answer some of the questions. The reason I called multiple times was because, as most of us know, answers change depending on who you speak with, I wanted to make sure that the answer was really was 5pm, because no one was 100% sure.

At this point I did realize it was a bit of gamble and we pry should have just gone about our day, drove down solely for the event, and stayed at the Hilton.

As for the oddity of driving 1.5hrs for a pool, when you live in a place that is covered in fog and 60 degrees-- yes, that's our summer weather-- a pool day is a hot commodity, not to mention access to a pool. The pool itself is not spectacular, yet much much nicer than the Hilton, but the idea of sunny 75 weather was the real draw. Yes, we were being picky and wanted a nicer pool for the few hours we were going to use it.
