You have hit the very crux of what has happened to a large number of flyers. I for one used to hold those who 'protected' the flying public in the highest esteem. I was part of the 'anything for security' crowd after 9-11. Unfortunately, I now am more afraid of the TSA than I am of the terrorists. I actually have changed my traveling habits because of the new procedures. I have cut my travel by 2/3rds. I no longer make unnecessary trips. I distrust my government and those that it employs. This is distressing for me. I really don't want to despise or distrust those whose job it is to 'keep me safe', yet being radiated, searched, intrusively questioned and put into the category of guilty until proven innocent absolutely repulses me. SATTSO, I am very sorry to say that I do not respect the TSA or what it has done, and is doing to the flying public. I wish I felt differently. Unfortunately, because I fly so often, and have had to endure what I see as an affront to the basic tenants of what it means to be an American, and to live in America that I for one need to voice my displeasure. What is happening is unAmerican. Those of us who fly often see it for what it is. Expensive security theater that really doesn't make us safer. I have no doubt that there are TSO's that are trying to do a good job and truly believe in their cause. Unfortunately, your organization has alienated flyers such as myself. Again, I truly wish I felt differently.
