If you ever do anything like this in the future (applies to anyone else reading this), remove your ID before you enter the terminal. Stash it somewhere (car, with a friend).

You weren't flying, so unless they caught you getting behind the wheel of a car, you didn't actually need to have any ID on you.

They'll still demand verbal info, but they won't be able to pass the ID around to every clown who wants to take a look at it or make a copy of it.
