Looks good to me, although no access to do a mileage check and not sure what *RTW you were on. Max segments not an issue, no Area 2 to 3 overlap, no second stays in cities already stopped at, no cities transitted more than 3 times.

The *agent started acting up saying that HKG, TPE and PVG(Shanghai) all are cities in China and so I cannot backtrack, as I would be entering the country of origin more than once. Any truth to this?

While it's true that you can only have 1 international departure and 1 international arrival of country of origin, the agent is way, I mean WAY off base with Taiwan and mainland China being the same country. They may have a point with HKG and China, but I can't recall any instance where they have been counted as the one country. Mind you, I don't see many * RTW's starting in HKG - there's bound to be someone here who's done them recently.
Technically, HKG is some sort of independant "protectorate" (for lack of a better word) of China, is it not? IMHO it's like saying Tahiti is France and you can't visit both in the one itinerary as it's entering the same country again!!
Cheers
