Interesting comments. The biggest complaint was that TSA's one-size-fits-all approach to screening lacked common sense, especially when it came to white, anglo-saxons because, after all, there was no such thing as a Norwegian terrorist (then came the Oslo shootings). The Israeli screening model has been lamented in here as the model TSA should strive to become.
This concept is so new that it's still in the development stage. It is supposed to deliver what I thought people in this forum cried for: focusing screening where it needs to be focused and not focusing so much on people such as little old ladies in wheelchairs, frequent whiners uh, I mean, travelers, and so on.
I don't know how the program will look. None of us low-ranking employees do. But one thing is for sure: it's going to require an entirely new mindset for both officers and passengers. FWIW, TSOs are also expressing doubt that this will work. I can understand that, however; many people tend to resist change even when it makes sense.
We'll see how it works out in the end.
