I'd definitely add SFO. The combination of early to arrive flights from the east coast, late to leave flights from the west coast and easy access to downtown on either BART or a shuttle is ideal.

Finding cheap ways to do it, though, can be interesting.

P.S. airport hotels can often be found cheaply on Priceline too if you decide to stay a day
