FWIW, the local ABC station had a pretty extensive report last nights, shots of the plane with the slides deployed, interviewing PAX, etc.

While personal accounts may prove to be less than accurate the reports included:

very hard landing followed by the plane fishtailing on the runway.

They interviewed a PAX who said "I calmly called over the FA and said "there's a fire under the plane", and that the FA then reported it to the pilot. I not sure how this could happen, since the FAs are pretty much all buttoned up at the front and rear of the plane from the time of final descent until they're at the gate.

Several people reported going down the slide as "fun".

I don't know what the mix on this flight typically is, but pretty much everyone they interviewed was speaking with a strong French accent.

It seems like they were exiting through customs at about the 4 hour mark after landing, and they people they showed seemed pretty calm. They didn't say whether or not they'd received either their checked or carryon bags.
