I recently saw a courier company's website that lithium ion batteries are restricted as per iata rules. so they can't ship mobile phones. But the funny thing is that in the last 2 years, i got 4 mobile phones delivered by courier people (that by air too) by dtdc, bluedart, and professional couriers. But don't go for professional courier at any cost. I lost an android tablet that was shipped through professional courier. They opened the packet with some sharp tool and damaged the tablet pc so badly. I think they tried to steal the contents inside it. Since the tablet pc was covered by a leather cover, the culprit may thought that it was a diary and left it. Anyway i had to dump that in the waste basket and no one at professional was there to atleast give me a reply or solution.
You can see that many electronic sellers from abroad ships mobile phones through dhl etc. So i don't think it won't be a problem.
