I would like to nominate MNL for runner up at making up bizarre reasons to confiscate things.
MNL has taken my $2 white 10' lightweight household type extension cord because "wire" was not allowed. Never mind that the cord on my laptop charger was longer and heaver but apparently OK because laptop chargers are OK but "wire" is not OK.

MNL has also taken my light bulb twice, and had a rather intense high level managerial debate over my light bulb another time but did allow my light bulb then. It never occurred to me that a light bulb would be controversial.
They have previously become quite concerned about my 3" zip ties but eventually relented and let me keep them.
Most recently MNL took my 9" travel umbrella because it has a metal tube.
