Is it possible to experience Fiji on budget? (I know Pacific islands tend to be very expensive.)

Any tips on where to stay, how to get around for cheap, inexpensive attractions? Miles will take care of getting there but we'd like to stretch the budget to stay there longer (2-3 weeks). Is $60-70 per day for two doable?
