are the indirect option ex. Australia.
They may have a monopoly on direct flights AKL-LHR-AKL, but they certainly don't have a monopoly on 1-stop routes. It's debatable as to whether the direct option offers any significant advantage in this case.
In any case, yes, NZ's BP is very good.
