The rearmost seats are safest actually. The over-wing seats are not only right over the fuel tanks, but that's where the fuselage snaps during crash landings.

Premium seats are up front not for safety but psychological perceptions of superiority. High-class passengers want to be leading the parade, not consigned to bringing up the rear.
