Despite knowing he's not eligible according to the published terms, Happy is complaining because Fidelity purportedly bent the rules for others. If Fidelity wants to issue exemptions, that's there prerogative, and it doesn't hurt any other customer. A jealous tantrum doesn't serve anyone well.

Precisely. If enough selfish people whine, "why not me too?!", Fidelity will pull the plug for all. Perhaps they are issuing exemptions just for high margin customers and don't feel like bending the rules for everyone.

And why would you want them to? If you want to play Mr. Policeman, you should scour almost every Flyertalk category, locate threads where people are discussing to make the most of promotions, loopholes, exploits, etc., and then call and complain to the involved companies, demanding that they stop allowing it.
