It always confounds me that on flights that are wide open and almost no change of being filled up -- that Awards are still not available. Especially on those where fares are less than $125 OW (most try to get at least $150 OW travel on the old Standard Awards). I suppose WN is trying to force its RR customers to buy tickets and hope that the Award just expires.
100% my experience with 8 of these now useless awards. Can't get an ISP-MCO award in the dead heat of the summer for weeks yet almost every flight has a web special in the low 100's. My theory is they do this on purpose to make 2.0 look useful.
Bitter, yes! Stupid me for allowing 8 x 16 x $1200 = $153,600 of spend to hit the Chase card instead of Starwood or Marriott where I might actually get a benefit I could use, like a weeklong stay in a suite resort. And just by the WN tickets for cash. I was asleep at the switch!
