When CP was flying out of LAX/T3 for a while, they used the TWA lounge. The receptionist had a thick book of FF card photocopies and checked my CP Gold against the list. Then I had to sign in and record my CP number for them to get reimbursement.

Sounds a bit like Priority Pass, where they say you sign a voucher and then PP bills you for the visit (if you're on pay-as-you-go).
