I called the Amex to apply for the plat yesterday, mentioning the bonus ID for 100k. The agent couldn't find the code on their system anymore so I guess it expired last month? It will not work attempting to provide the code over the phone BEFORE applying. I don't think anyone has mentioned success. Personally, I tried no less than 4 times. All failed. Most times the CSR would attempt to look up my address to see whether i was targeted for it.
Apply using the 50k link. Activate card. Call MR or send SM asking for the bump to 100k. Done and done.
