LH Group Airlines (including BD) will introduce an "Optional" Payment Charge for credit card payment from 2nd November 2011 (or 5th September in some countries). For flights originating in Germany, for example, the surcharge will be:

Domestic: 5 EUR
European: 8 EUR
International: 18 EUR

Although credit card surcharges may not be new to BD flyers, I don't understand the rate of surcharge for flights originating in the UK published here (p.5).

It looks like a flat rate will be charged for flights originating in Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands and the UK regardless of the class of travel but the note "**Only Economy classes" (for the UK) is not clear to me. Does it mean £4.50 OPC is only charged on Economy Class tickets? Or the other way round?
Does that mean bmi award flights starting in FRA would be charged €18 for using a credit card?? That would be bad.
