I'm sure this will be a gripping read for the flight, but it's BA, from a British Airport so you will be subject to CAA regulations.

I'd also advise against asking for the upgrade - check-in staff have heard every story going, and they cannot upgrade you. All you'll likely do is irritate them...

Any upgrades required for the flight will have likely been processed before you arrive at the airport - and BA upgrade status pax first as a general rule of thumb.
