Yes I've done that many time and it works well. They link it to your ticket and for safety, always ask them for an email to confirm as check-in desk often never gets the info and need to go to the sales desk to confirm, so can save you 10 mins!!

So I just booked the flysmart award and called reservations.
They just processed the request in the system and I got the pdf with UM as confirmed.
Payment needs to be settled at an LH office and cannot be done over the phone (I'll be in GVA this friday, so no issue).
Data requested:
Name of the person dropping off minor; telephone; address
Name of the person picking up minor; telephone; address
Fairly efficient, only a bit of hesitation as it was a miles and more award tix and they were unsure they could do it (LH Switzerland, French/English number), but it got done.
